MAIMANA (Pajhwok): The launching ceremony of the Uzbek language translation of the holy Quran was held on Thursday in the capital of northern Faryab province.
Maulvi Abdul Hasib, who translated the most read book from Arabic to Uzbek language in seven years, said he had consulted other religious scholars about his work.
He said the Quran had been translated into more than hundred languages of the world and the Uzbek translation was direly felt and the project had finished.
Bunyadul Quran Madrassa chief said translation of Quran in native languages made it easy to understand the holy book.

Syed Abdul Rashid, the Information and Cultural Director, called the manuscript a huge achievement in Afghanistan’s history.
He said 2,000 copies of the book’s Uzbek translation had been printed, but they were still insufficient.
