<p><a href="/en/afganistan/kabul" class="glossify-link">KABUL</a> (Pajhwok): The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has said it supports the revival of the ancient Silk Road as part of China’s One Belt One Road initiative.</p>
<p>ADB head Takehiko Nakao, talking to Pajhwok Afghan News on the sidelines of the bank’s 50<sup>th</sup> annual gathering in Japan, said the ADB was largely using its 50 years of experience in future programs and development of Asian countries.</p>
<p>He said cooperation and regional integration, which was part of ADB agenda, had been included in the bank’s strategy until 2030.</p>
<p>About the revival of the ancient Silk Road that passes from <a href="/en/afghanistan" class="glossify-link">Afghanistan</a> and connects Asia with Europe and Africa, Nakao said: “The ADB supports the rehabilitation of the Silk Road.”</p>
<p>From economic point of view, the ancient road, also called China’s One Belt One Road (OBOR) initiative, would benefit a large number of countries once implemented, he said.</p>
<p>The ADB’s 50<sup>th</sup> annual meeting was held from May 4 to May 7 in Yokohama city of Japan.</p>
<p>Nakao said the meeting was aimed at assessing the bank’s last year’s performance and use its experiences in future plans.</p>
