However, the Pakistani Embassy in Kabul rejected the delegation was coming to Kabul for that purpose and said the visit was not a follow-up to Afghan interior minister and spymaster’s visit to Islamabad.

Interior Minister Wais Barmak and National Directorate of Security (NDS) Chief Masoum Stanikzai after their return from Islamabad addressed in a press conference in Kabul.

They said had conveyed evidence to the Pakistani officials about Taliban in mosques, madaris (religious schools) and other places.

They claimed to have asked Pakistan to hand over the culprits of the attacks in Afghanistan and shared ‘undeniable’ evidence that the attacks were planned there.

Afghan Interior Minister Wais Barmak said they submitted a list of questions during Wednesday's "constructive" one-hour meeting in Islamabad with top Pakistani officials.

Barmak said the evidence had been provided to Pakistan and now the people of Afghanistan were awaiting what action the country takes action against Taliban’s safe havens.

He said they held ‘constructive’ dialogue with Pakistani officials and Islamabad assured of taking action against elements involved in recent terrorist attacks.

The Pakistan prime minister, the ISI chief, interior minister and defense ministry officials were present during the meeting, he said.

The NDS chief said recent attacks were conducted and claimed by the Taliban, so they were responsible. When asked if Pakistan again fails to take action against the Taliban, Stanikzai said the situation in Afghanistan, as well as the international community’s viewpoint had changed about the conflict.

The spymaster said there had been always a communication link between countries even in war times as he replied to a question “would Afghanistan cut ties with Pakistan if the later fails to take action against terrorists?”

But the Pakistani Embassy in Kabul in a statement said the Pakistani delegation was visiting Kabul on Saturday (February 3) as ‘a consequence of the ongoing negotiations on the Afghanistan-Pakistan Action Plan for Solidarity (APAPS)’ since November last year.
