A railroad, power transmission lines and other infrastructure projects came up for discussion at a meeting between special representatives of the two countries for Afghanistan in Baku on Monday.
Uzbek president’s representative Ismatulla Irgashev and his German counterpart Markus Potzel discussed the Mazar-Herat railway line, the Surkhan-Pul-i-Khumri transmission lines and other projects.
In a statement cited by Trend news agency, the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said the two sides exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan and prospects for the peace process.
The two sides focused interaction on implementation of recommendations of the Tashkent Declaration, which was adopted on March 27 at an international conference on Afghanistan.
Uzbekistan stressed Germany’s participation in the educational projects it has initiated in Afghanistan, particularly in the creation of the International Fund for Education Support.
