HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): A key Taliban operative has been killed in a foreign forces drone strike in western Herat province, an official said on Sunday.
Abdul Ahad Walizadah, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the drone targeted Mullah Ewaz aka ‘Ghazi’ in the Aziz Abad area of Shindand district on Saturday night.
He said Ewaz was brother of Taliban’s shadow district chief for Enjil district of the province.
The Taliban have not yet commented in this regard.
