KABUL (Pajhwok): US Congress speaker Nancy Pelosi during her visit to Kabul met with Afghan Special Forces Operations Corps in Kabul, the corps said in a statement on Monday.

The statement from the Afghan Special Forces operations Corps media’s office received by Pajhwok Afghan News said the US Congress delegation led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi held a meeting with the Special Operations Corps commander Lt. Gen. Mohammad Fareed Ahmadi in Reshkhor Garrison on Sunday.

The statement said the two sides discussed Afghanistan and training of military personnel.

Gen. Ahmadi thanked and appreciated the US Congress delegation over various support of NATO with the Afghan National Army (ANA), particularly with the Commando forces, saying ANA soldiers could now defend their country.

He said security forces were not fighting against ordinary Taliban’s experienced instructors.
