<p><a href="/en/afganistan/kabul" class="glossify-link">KABUL</a> Cricket Board (ACB) has banned national team member Shafiqullah Shafaq for violating the code against corruption.</p>
<p>In a statement, the board said that Shafaq had been accused of violating the law in the first edition of the Afghanistan Premier League and in another case.</p>
<p>Without giving details, the statement said the ACB had given the wicket-keeping batsman two weeks to explain his position.</p>
<p>APL was played in the United Arab Emirates last year. Pajhwok Afghan News has obtained documents showing 10 vulnerable areas in the League. The International Cricket Council has demanded an investigation.</p>
<p>On September 12, 2019, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) urged the AGO to investigate alleged corruption in the League.</p>
<p>The (AGO has sent back corruption cases related to the Afghanistan Premier League (APL) to the board for investigations.</p>
