Gold, firewood, fuel prices down in Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): The prices of fuel, gold, four and oil have decreased during the outgoing week in the capital Kabul, market sources said Saturday.

Mohammad Omaid Husain, a wholesaler in Kabul Mandavi Market, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the price of 49 kilograms of Kazakh flour decreased from 1,750 Afghanis to 1,740 Afghanis and a kilogram of black African tea from 340 Afghanis to 320afs.

However, he said that the price of 24kg of Pakistan rice was 2,400afs, 49kg of Indian sugar 2,200afs, 16 liters of Malaysian ghee 1,550afs and a kilogram and a kilogram of Indonesia green tea 320afs, the same as last week’s.

Hamid Sufizada, a retailer in Dahn-i-Bagh locality, said that the price of 49kg of Kazakh flour was 1,750afs, 50kg of Indian sugar 2,300afs, 24kg of Pakistani rice 2,420afs, 16 liters of Malaysian ghee 1,580afs, a kilogramo f Indonesian green tea 330afs and the same quantity of African black tea 350afs, higher than wholesale rates.

The prices of firewood and fuel also declined this week.

Qudratullah, a firewood seller in Charahi Shahid area of Kabul said that the price of 560kg of oak was decreased from 8,600afs to 8,200afs, the same quantity of cedar was decreased from 8,000afs to 7,900afs. He added that the price of a ton of coal was decreased from 6,800afs to 6,500afs.

A worker of Hashemi Fuel Station in Charahi Taimani area of Kabul said that the price of one liter of diesel decreased from 39afs to 38afs and the same quantity of petrol from 39afs to 36afs.

Mohammad Sharif, a gas seller in Kolola Pushta area of Kabul, said that the price of one kilogram of gas was 55afs.

Mohammad Javid, a jweller in Lycee Maryam area of Kabul, said that the price of one gram of Arabian gold reduced from 3,750afs to 3,600afs and the same quantity of Russian variety from 3,150afs to 2,900afs.

Haji Hussain, owner of Sadaqat money exchange service, said the value of one US dollar was 77.10afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupee exchanged for 478afs, against last week’s 77.10afs and 479afs.
