KABUL (Pajhwok): Iran on Wednesday said it saw the ongoing intra-Afghan talks as the only peaceful and lasting solution to the country’s conflict.
According to Fars News Agency, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Sa’eid Khatibzadeh said Afghans could live together regardless of ethnicity, religion or race.
He said the achievements of the Afghan people over the years must be preserved at the end of the peace process.
He added Tehran believed the intra-Afghan dialogue was the only peaceful and lasting solution for Afghanistan.
He said peace that enables all Afghan groups to play a role in future was the only way to peace and stability.
The spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the United States has no choice but to at least reduce the burden of suffering and grief it unleashed on the nations of the region by leaving responsibly and committedly.
Regarding the visit of the Taliban political delegation headed by Mullah Baradar, Khaitbzadeh said various aspects and issues related to peace talks in Afghanistan and lasting peace were discussed with the delegation.
