KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): At least 30 people have been killed and 250 others, including women and children, injured in recent clashes between security forces and Taliban insurgents in northern Kunduz province.
Dr. IhsanullahFazli, director of public health department, however, did not say which side Taliban or government forces inflected casualties on civilians.
Recently several districts of the province have been captured by the Taliban and conflict has been underway.
Those injured in recent incidents told Pajhwok that the Taliban and the government should stop killing innocent civilians as soon as possible and pave the way for peace which is the only wish of all Afghans.
Bahir, one of the wounded persons being treated at Kunduz Civil Hospital, said a mortar hit his home, injuring seven members of his family.
Humayoon, another resident and wounded person, said that a mortar shell hit his house and injured him.
Meanwhile, Inayatullah Khaliq, head of civil society organizations, told Pajhwok that civilians were always affected by the fighting.
He expressed hope that the parties involved would pay serious attention to this issue.
