KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghan pavilion at Dubai Expo remained shut for hours after the world expo fair opened in Dubai on Friday.
Afghanistan is one of about 200 nations taking part in the six-month fair that was awarded to Dubai eight years.
But the country’s pavilion, organised by the previous Afghan government, remained unfinished and closed to visitors, Reuters reported.
A security guard at the building housing the Afghan pavilion told the British media outlet they had not witnessed any one work there in weeks.
An Expo representative said Afghanistan was “one of a small number of pavilions that are not quite ready to open”.
While referring further queries to the Afghan pavilion team, the representative did not say who that was.
