KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s tour of Zimbabwe has once again been postponed as a result of a mutual agreement between the two cricket boards.

Originally penciled in for December, the tour was deferred in response to a request from the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB).

On Friday, Zimbabwe Cricket said it was unable to secure the required broadcast services and hence the postponement of the limited overs series.

The two sides were scheduled to play three One-Day International (OD) matches, part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League, and five T20I games.

The ACB agreed to play the series in February, ZC could not secure, on short notice, the required broadcast services, including the Decision Review System, due to the many events happening elsewhere across the world.

“We were excited about hosting Afghanistan but, given the circumstances, deferring the tour was the only option,” ZC Managing Director Givemore Makoni said in a statement.

“We are, however, looking forward to the rescheduling of the series as soon as practically possible,” he added.
