KABUL (Pajhwok): Japanese ambassador to Kabul has said his country would not link humanitarian, development and other cooperation with Afghans to politics, adding that Japan is mulling necessary steps for Afghanistan's economic growth.
Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Maulvi Amir Khan Mottaqi met with Japanese Ambassador to Afghanistan Takashi Okada today (Tuesday), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
According to the statement, the Japanese ambassador described the security situation in Afghanistan as better than ever and added that the approval of the new year's budget from domestic revenue showed Afghanistan's economic development.
Takashi Okada, referring to humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, said it showed that the world wanted to engage with the Afghan government.
In addition to assistance in agriculture, education and other development sectors, Takashi noted that his country was consulting on Afghanistan's economic growth to take necessary steps in this regard.
He also said that his country does not link humanitarian, development and other cooperation with Afghans to politics.
During the meeting, Mottaqi urged Japan to provide assistance incomplete projects in Afghanistan and that the plans Tetsu Nakamura, a Japanese citizen, should be followed and implemented.
He said their government had waged the war on narcotics and had started treatment of addicts and in this regard the whole world, including Japan, should provide health, food and other assistance.
