Flour, cooking oil & sugar prices down in Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): The price of Pakistani rice increased while the rates of Russian gold, flour, cooking oil, and Indian sugar decreased in Kabul this outgoing week.

Zamarai Safi, head of Food Traders Union in Kabul, told Pajhwok Afghan News a bag of 49 kilograms of Kazakhstani flour decreased from 2,800 afs to 2,700 afs while the rate of 16 liter of Malaysian cooking oil dropped from 3,050 afs to 3000 afs, 49 kilograms of Indian sugar from 2,900afs 2,850afs.

However, the price of 24.5 kilograms of Pakistani rice jumped from 2,900afs to 3,100afs.

According to a source, the wholesale price of one kilogram of African black tea was 400afs and the same quantity of Indonesian green tea 350afs.

Hamid Sufizada, a retailer in Dahan-i-Bagh area of Kabul, said today (Saturday) as last week a 49-kilogram bag of Kazakhstani flour price stood at 2,750afs, 24 kilograms of Pakistani rice 3,150afs, 49 kilograms of Indian sugar 2,950afs, 16 liters of Malaysian cooking oil 3,100 afs, one kilogram of Indonesia green tea 400afs, and the same quantity of African Black tea at 450afs.

Fuel prices remain unchanged

A worker of Ahmadyar Group told Pajhwok the price of one liter of petrol was 80afs and one liter of diesel 88afs.

Mohammad Sharif, a gas seller in Kolola Pushta area, sold one kilogram of the commodity for 68 afs, the same rate as last week.

Arabic gold price unchanged

Mohammad Javid, a jeweler in the Lyci Maryam market of Kabul said the price of one gram of Arabian gold was 4,400 afs, the same as last week, but the price of one gram of Russian variety decreased from 3,450afs to 3,400afs.

Haji Hussain, owner of Sadaqat Money Changer, said one US dollar accounted for 88 afs while 1,000 Pakistani rupees exchanged for 450 afs on Saturday.
