KABUL (Pajhwok): The interim Afghan government on Thursday announced signing an agreement on aviation cooperation with a United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based firm.
The prime minister’s office said in a statement the process for the accord with the General Aviation Airport Coalition (GAAC), which had been set in motion earlier, was completed today (Thursday).
Under the agreement, airlines using Afghanistan’s airspace or seeking to land at foreign airports would be provided international-standard services and instructions.
The agreement will help improve the airlines’ safety besides paving the way for revenue generation from the use of Afghanistan’s airspace by aircraft from other countries.
As part of the deal, Afghan experts, who will eventually take full charge of the process in future, will be provided training in the field of aviation.
