KABUL (Pajhwok): Petrol and diesel prices decreased but that of gold and gas surged in Kabul markets during the outgoing week, market sources said on Saturday.
According to an employee of the Ahmadyar Group of Pump Stations, the price of one litre of petrol decreased from 81afs to 80 afs and diesel from 97afs to 95afs.
Liquefied gas price
Mohammad Sharif, a liquefied gas seller in Kalola Pushta locality, said the price of one kilogram of gas increased from 60afs to 66afs.
Gold price
Mohammad Javed, a jeweler in the Lycee Maryam market, said the price of one gram of Arabian gold increased from 3,900afs to 4,000afs, while the rate of the Russian variety remained unchanged at 3,300afs.
Prices of food items remain unchanged
Zmarai Safi, head of the Food Traders Union, told Pajhwok Afghan News the price of a 16-litre tin of Malaysian cooking oil stood at 1,850afs, a 49-kilogram bag Kazakhstani flour at 2,400 afs, 49-kilogram of Indian sugar stood at 3,000afs, a 24.5-kilogram sack of Pakistani rice at 3,000afs, one kilogram of African black tea at 400afs and the same quantity of Indonesian green tea at 350afs – same as last week’s.
Hamid Sufizada, a retailer in Dahna-i-Bagh area of Kabul, said the retail price of a 49-kilogram bag of Kazakh flour was 2,450 afs, a 24-kilogram sack of Pakistani rice 3,050 afs, a 49 kilograms bag of Indian sugar 3,050 afs, a 16 litres tin of Malaysian cooking oil 1,900afs, one kilogram of green tea was 400afs and the same quantity of black tea 450 afs.
Currency rates
Haji Hussain, owner of the Sadaqat Money Exchange, said one US dollar was accounted for 88.70afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees consumed 370afs.
Last week, one US dollar was exchanged for 88 afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees for 370afs.
