BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): Tens of foreign tourists have visited the natural beauty and historic sites in central Bamyan province in the past three months, an official said on Monday.
Information and Cultural Affairs Department Official Mohammad Din Mufleh told Pajhwok Afghan News since the start of new solar year 380 foreigners have visited historic and natural beauty sites in Bamyan province.
He said foreign tourists from France, Italy, US, Taiwan, China, India, Pakistan, Iran, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Russia and UK had visited historic and natural beauty sites in the province.
He said the number of foreign tourist visited the province in the past three months was two time higher comparing to the same period last year.
Bamyan Governor Abdullah Sarhadi assured of full security in the province for local and foreign tourists.
He said security situation had been improved province wide and assured that more facilities would be provided for local and foreign journalists.
Abdullah a US citizen for the first time visited Bamyan and Band-i-Amir and said the Band-i-Amir site has natural beauty, there is calmness and attract attention of tourists.
He was also happy about the security situation and said security officials were cooperative with tourists and people could travel everywhere without fear.
Zmarai, the resident of Kabul to travelled to Bamyan province and said Bamyan was an important province for tourism and it has attractive and historic sites.
He believed if more services are provided, transportation issues, hoteling and administration of Band-i-Amir is improved more tourists would come to visit Bamyan province.
