KABUL (Pajhwok): The Supreme Court (SC) says it is resuming the issuance of paper property ownership documents in compliance with a new order from the Islamic Emirate supreme leader while the issuance of electronic documents will remain suspended until problems in its system are resolved.
The SC started issuing paper property ownership documents at the beginning of the current year and said at that time the documents were issued both in electronic and paper forms as approved by the Cabinet.
The aim of this step was speed up the issuance process and to prevent registration of properties on fake documents.
The SC media office told Pajhwok Afghan News today that the property registration process was started earlier this year, but it had to be stopped after some time.
The SC wrote on its X handle that the Islamic Emirate supreme leader had freshly ordered the resumption of ownership documents issuance.
It quoted Sheikh Hebatullah Akhundzada as saying: “The courts were issuing ownership documents on paper in the past, so they shall continue this work”.
Akhundzada added: “The issuance of electronic ownership documents will remain stopped until the system is made functional in all provinces of the country, but if someone wants to change his paper ownership documents into electronic form, they can do it, currently the ownership documents can be issued only in the capital and provincial capitals”.
