KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) on Tuesday once again warned state land usurpers of legal consequences if they continued the illegal practice.
The MoJ in a <a href="https://moj.gov.af/dr/%D8%A7%D8%B9%D9%84%D8%A7%D9%85%DB%8C%D9%87-%DA%A9%D9%85%DB%8C%D8%B3%DB%8C%D9%88%D9%86-%D8%AC%D9%84%D9%88%DA%AF%DB%8C%D8%B1%DB%8C-%D8%A7%D8%B2-%D8%BA%D8%B5%D8%A8-%D8%B2%D9%85%DB%8C%D9%86-%D9%88-%D8%A7%D8%B3%D8%AA%D8%B1%D8%AF%D8%A7%D8%AF-%D8%B2%D9%85%DB%8C%D9%86-%D9%87%D8%A7%DB%8C-%D8%BA%D8%B5%D8%A8-%D8%B4%D8%AF%D9%87">statement</a> said: “Properties and assets of Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) offices, waqf properties, mines, forests, pastures, mountains, plains, ownerless lands and historical monuments are movable and immovable state assets according to Sharia.”
The ministry said destroying and usurping such properties was illegal and the perpetrators were committing a great sin liable to compensation and Sharia punishment.
“Sharia considers the protection of public properties the responsibility of every Muslim. Destroying, usurping or damaging public properties deserves punishment in this world and hereafter”.
The ministry explained: “We ask usurpers to stop usurping lands. First they usurp land, secondly they continue the usurpation, thirdly they do not consider land usurpation a crime, fourthly they make baseless accusations against the system in order to hide this great crime and sin, we clearly tell them they cannot be forgiven by the system and the nation”.
