KABUL (Pajhwok): The Economic Commission has tasked the Ministry of Energy and Water (MoEW) with holding technical discussions with relevant companies on construction of the second Sarobi dam and production of 300 megawatts of electricity from gas in northern Jawzjan province.
A statement said the Economic Commission met under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar on Wednesday.
The meeting discussed the construction of the second Sarobi dam in Kabul, the production of 300 megawatts of gas electricity in Jawzjan, the draft prepared by MoMP about construction materials and some other economic topics.
The commission instructed MoEW to hold technical discussions with the company presenting the project, including MoMP, regarding the production of 300 megawatts of gas electricity in Jawzjan province and submit its report to the Economic Commission.
They also discussed a MoMP-suggested plan about construction materials (sand, gravel and stone).
Considering amendments, the meeting decided that a joint meeting should be held with relevant ministries and agencies to further enrich the draft and send the final draft to the IEA leadership office for approval.
