KABUL (Pajhwok): As many 28 deported criminals have been released on assurances from Kabul jail, Spiegel magazine said on Saturday.
Spiegel magazine said Suhail Shahin, head of the IEA political bureau in the Qatari capital Doha reported: “These refugees were released after their families gave written assurances that they would not commit any crimes”.
The 28 Afghan asylum seekers convicted of crimes in Germany were deported to the country on August 30.
This is the first deportation of Afghan refugees from Europe to Kabul since the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan takeover.
The issue of deporting asylum seekers from Germany has become a hot topic in recent months after a German police officer was killed by an Afghan asylum seeker in the city of Mannheim.
The attack sparked a wave of criticism of Germany's policies towards migrants, with the German chancellor announcing that he would deport criminals, even if they came from Afghanistan and Syria.
