MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): Two roads are being constructed at a cost of more than 20 million afghanis in the provincial capital of northern Balkh province, Mazar-i-Sharif.
The projects are being implemented in the limits of 7th and 9th districts of the city.
Mazar-i-Sharif municipality said in a statement the first road will be built in 7th district that will cost 17.9 million afs to be paid from the municipality’s development budget.
This 10 meter-wide and a kilometer long road will be competed in three months.
Also the municipality has started construction work on another 620 meter long and seven meter-wide road in Nawshad area in 9th district and that project will be finished in one month.
Mazar-i-Sharif mayor Mohammad Kazim Tariq said told the inaugural ceremony of the projects that the entire nation, especially citizens of this city, had the responsibility to help officials in maintaining the roads.
Mazar-i-Sharif residents expressed their pleasure over the projects. On of them Emal said they faced multiple problems because of the damaged roads.
Emal further confirmed many other road construction projects were under execution right now.
