SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): An eight-month feud between two families a pasture has come to an end thanks to mediation of local officials, scholars and tribal elders in northern Jawzjan province, an official said on Wednesday.
Border and Tribal Affairs department head Maulvi Ghulam Nabi Samim told Pajhwok Afghan News the enmity surfaced over division of a pasture between two families eight months ago in Turkmen Qodogh village of Qush Tepa district.
“The clash over the pasture between Nematullah and Nazar Ali families surfaced and Nematullah was beaten by Nazar Ali and it led to a great deal of disagreement,”he added.
Samim explained: “Scholars, tribal elders and elders put their efforts and were able to reconcile the families. Both sides pardoned each other and vowed to live like friends”.
On the other hand, Faiz bai, a tribal elder, said they resolved the enmity in cooperation and coordination with the Border and Tribal Affairs officials
“Recently, we witnessed many such issues resolved, but still some remain, there is strength in unity. A united nation of a country can better solve their problems and reach common goals”.
Maulvi Abdul Majeed, a religious scholar, does not believe that enmity and differences are in the interest of families and emphasized resolving them through dialogue and negotiation.
Both sides hugged each other at a gathering held in this regard and ended their eight-month hostility.
“There was a clash between us over pasture, and I was beaten by Nazar Ali and injured my hands and feet. It lasted for eight months, but now elders have resolved our enmity. The elders’ decision is my decision. I am very happy with their decision”: Nematullah explained.
According to him, before peace was made between them, they would always in fear and terror, and now they were happy that their enmity had ended.
