KABUL (Pajhwok): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has directed the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and other relevant government bodies through a decree to arrest and refer human traffickers to the military courts for punishment.
In a voice message, IEA Deputy Spokesperson Hamdullah Fitrat, said IEA supreme leader has issued a 6-point decree to prevent human trafficking.
Fitrat said: “The decree labeled human trafficking an act against Sharia and ordered serious steps for the safety and protection of human dignity and life. In the light of Quranic and Hadeath verses, it is stressed that human trafficking endangered public lives and it is considered against Islamic Sharia Law.”
The decree instructed ministries of Vice and Virtue, Hajj Affairs, Education, Higher Education, Information and Culture, Borders and Tribal Affairs and a number of other relevant institutions to take necessary measures about the prevention of human trafficking,” Fitrat said.
He added: “The decree instructed the MoI to identify human traffickers, arrest them and introduce them to military courts for punishment; the decree also ordered the closure of centres that are involved in such issues and called on the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI) to help the MoI in this regard.”
According to this decree, human traffickers will be punished for one year for being involved in this issue, for two years for their second involvement and for three years imprisonment for their involvement for the third time.
