GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): A special market for the sale of raisins opened on Tuesday at a cost of 200 million Afs and put into operation in Ghazni City, the capital of southern Ghazni province, an official said.
Ghazni City Mayor Mawlavi Mohammad Nabi Hamza said a special market for the sale of raisins opened in the Qala Amir Khan area and put into operation.
He said the market had been built at a cost of 200 million afs of people and businessmen have 400 shops, parking and other necessary facilities.
According to his information, the plan, design, map, and land for this market have been provided by the municipality.
The mayor said that with the construction of this market, employment opportunities would be provided to the people and the economy of the people will be strengthened.
He added that work is underway to build markets for other agricultural products in Ghazni city, which will largely prevent congestion in the city.
On the other hand, traders are also happy with the construction of this market.
Ghulam Sakhi, a trader in Ghazni, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the establishment of such markets was very important for the exchange of trade goods.
He said: “Ghazni city is small and has a large population, so the establishment of such markets is necessary to expand the city on the one hand and provide employment opportunities for the people on the other.”
It is pertinent to mention that in addition to residents of this province, people from neighboring provinces such as Maidan Wardak, Paktia and Paktika also come to Ghazni city for business and commerce.
