KABUL (Pajhwok): A government delegation has assessed shops that were burned in Torkham during attacks by the Pakistani military regime, with financial assistance to be provided to affected traders.
According to reports, a number of shops and a commercial market were destroyed in the attacks, causing losses estimated at around 300 million afghanis.
The governor of eastern Nangarhar province, Mullah Mohammad Naeem, had instructed a team led by the head of the provincial office, Mawlawi Shahid Noorani, to assess the damage caused by the fire.
A statement from the Nangarhar governor’s office said the delegation met shopkeepers and market owners in Torkham and collected detailed information about their losses.
The findings will be shared with officials in Kabul so that financial assistance can be provided to the affected traders.
