KABUL (Pajhwok): A number of former governors have condemned Pakistan’s military regime for its attacks on Afghanistan, saying they stand with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) and the country’s citizens under all circumstances.
On February 21, Pakistan’s military regime violated Afghanistan’s airspace and carried out attacks on civilian areas in the provinces of Nangarhar and Paktika.
Afghan forces have also launched retaliatory attacks on Pakistani military installations. Officials of the IEA say heavy casualties have been inflicted on the Pakistani side during these clashes.
Meanwhile, several former governors on Tuesday condemned the attacks during a press conference in Kabul and through a joint statement, describing them as contrary to Islamic and international laws.
They added that they assure the people and the IEA that they will stand with them in any difficult situation and support the country’s security forces with one voice in defending the nation.
The former governors also called on political figures, religious scholars, tribal elders, professors and the youth of the country to remain united against Pakistan’s attacks.
They described the conflict as an imposed war and urged the Islamic Emirate’s security and defence forces to give a decisive response to any attack by Pakistan.
It is worth mentioning that hundreds of Kabul residents also condemned the Pakistani military regime’s attacks on Afghanistan during a protest gathering in the city last Friday and expressed their support for Afghan forces.
