KHOST CITY (PAN) said.
It appeared the emergency landing was forced by a technical problem, the NATO-led force’s media office said. Crewmembers were rescued and the incident caused no casualties, the alliance added.
But the Taliban claimed shooting down the aircraft with a rocket. The group’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, without giving specific casualty figures, said all those on board were killed.
Elsewhere in the country, an ISAF helicopter was shot down in central Maidan Wardak province, killing 31 US Special Forces and seven Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers. The incident took place Friday night in the Syedabad district, said the governor’s spokesman, Shahidullah Shahid.
