TALOQAN (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Interior (MoI) says four people have been arrested in connection with the murder of a money changer in Taloqan, the capital of northern Takhar province.
The ministry said on X that two months ago, a money changer named Naqibullah was shot dead by armed men riding motorcycles in front of the “Bestan-i-Alam” Mosque in Taloqan.
According to the ministry, the Criminal Investigation Department of Takhar Police Headquarters, in cooperation with intelligence officials, arrested four people in connection with the incident following joint and targeted investigative operations.
The ministry said the suspects confessed during preliminary investigations to their involvement in the murder and told authorities that they had killed Naqibullah in exchange for $4,000.
The MoI said the final decision on the suspects’ responsibility and punishment would be made by the relevant judicial and legal institutions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
