SHARAN (PAN): Students of southeastern Paktika province would be provided with the Internet facility, the governor said at a ceremony on Thursday.
Buildings for the Lincoln Learning Centre (LLC) and the Department of Information and Culture in the province were inaugurated at a ceremony, Mohibullah Samim told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The buildings were constructed in one year at a cost of $0.3 million (14,736,000 afs), provided by the US Embassy in Kabul).
Samim said: “We shall provide education and Internet facilities.”
The department’s old building lacked the required facilities which affected their work, said Information and Culture Director Bashir Muhammadi.
“With the provision of tables, chairs, computers and other items, our work will become easier and efficiency better,” Muhammadi hoped.
Daniel, a cultural affairs officer at the US embassy in Kabul, also attended the ceremony and said they had constructed LLCs in 16 provinces of Afghanistan. The projects had had a positive impact on training Afghan youth, he added.
