LASHKARGAH (PAN): The Mujahidin Council in southern Helmand province on Saturday voiced its deep concern at widespread administrative corruption and increasing land-grab incidents in the province.
The council members said incompetent individuals had been appointed on government posts, paving the ground for corruption and eventual crisis.
He said government officials worked for their own interests and had no interest in people’s problems. He said insecurity had increased due to incompetent government organs.
He added ex-jihadis had decided not to keep mum over issues like land grabbing and corruption. He said a joint stance over such issues would be announced soon.
Another jihadi leader Hajji Abdullah said they supported the security transition from foreign troops to the Afghan lead and they would help the government make it a success.
He said land mafias had increased their activities in Lashkargah, the provincial capital, and other districts, saying no land was available in Helmand to establish even a single factory.
