MAIMANA (PAN): Eight people, including children, were killed and five others wounded as a result of a road mishap in the northern province of Faryab, officials said on Wednesday.
The incident took place around noon when a veered off the road and plunged into a gorge in the Lolash area of Kohistan district, the public health director said.
Dr. Abdul Ali Halim told Pajhwok Afghan News the vehicle fell into a one-kilometre-deep ravine, killing five men, a woman and two children. Five others were wounded, he said.
The victims, hailing from the same family, were going to participate in a wedding ceremony in Dar-i-Takht area, he said.
