KANDAHAR CITY (PAN were killed when grenades in their possession exploded accidentally in Zhari district of southern Kandahar province, an official said on Saturday.
The men wanted to hurl the grenades toward a passing by vehicle of Afghan National Army (ANA) when the bombs went off in their possession, Kandahar governor’s spokesman, Zulmay Ayubi, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Both were killed in the blast and security forces seized a Kalashnikov and a motorcycle from the scene.
The Taliban have said nothing about the incident.
Ayubi also said that border police recovered and seized 203 kilograms of hashish and arrested a suspect in connection with the narcotics in Kandahar city on Friday.
