MAHTARLAM (PAN): Four people were killed and more than a dozen wounded in a suicide attack in the eastern province of Laghman on Monday noon, officials said.
The bomber on foot blew himself up in front of a hotel in the Alishang district bazaar, the district chief told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Faridullah Khan believed the hotel’s proprietor, who also owned a private security company, was the target of the attack.
Faizullah Patan, the governor’s spokesman, confirmed the suicide bombing that took place at 12pm. However, he put the death toll at three.
Public Health Director Abdul Latif said five of the injured were under medical treatment at the district clinic and another 10 at the Laghman Civil Hospital.
