<p><a href="/en/afganistan/kabul" class="glossify-link">KABUL</a>’s Qatar office head, a media report said on Wednesday.</p>
<p>Tayyab Agha resigned the position in protest over Mullah Omar’s death being kept under wraps, calling it a historic blunder. He also vehemently criticised Mullah Mansoor’s appointment as new Taliban leader. </p>
<p>Pakistani newspaper The Express Tribune reported Stanikzai -- a supporter of Mullah Mansoor -- had been appointed as new head of Taliban's political office in Doha.</p>
<p>In a statement, Stanikzai said: “I and other members of the political office ... declare allegiance to honourable Mullah Akhtar Mansoor. We consider this decision in accordance with Islamic Sharia and will follow his instructions.”</p>
<p>The Taliban website carried Stanikzai’s condolence and grief in a message over the death of Mullah Omar. Earlier, media reported serious differences among Taliban leaders over the appointment of the new leader. </p>
