Paktika intelligence officer dead in Taliban attack

 

GHAZNI CITY (Pajhwok): One security official was killed and five others were wounded in a Taliban attack on their convoy in the Andar district of southern Ghazni province on Thursday, authorities said.

The identity of the victim could not be established immediately, but a source in Paktika government identified the security official as Bakhtiar Gul Paktin, deputy head of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) for the province.

Syed Anwar Agha, the district police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News the security forces’ convoy came under Taliban attack in Shah Khok locality at around 10:00am. The convoy was on its way to Ghazni province from Paktika.

Provincial police chief, Brig. Gen. Aminullah Amarkhel, confirmed the incident, saying two of the injured were in unstable condition.
