JALALABAD (Pajhwok): One person was killed and eight others wounded on Friday in a bomb blast inside a mosque in Momand Dara district of eastern Nangarhar province.
The blast took place during Friday’s prayers inside the mosque in Sultankhel village of Hazran area, killing the prayer leader, Mualvi Nimatullah, the district chief said.
Mohammad Nasim told Pajhwok Afghan News eight worshipper were wounded in the blast.
The governor’s spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani, confirmed the incident and the casualties.
Public health official Inamullah Miakhel said the injured had been taken to various hospitals of the province.
No group has claimed responsibility for the blast.
