JALALABAD (Pajhwok): At least seven Daesh or Islamic State (IS) militants have been killed during airstrikes in Achin district of eastern Nangarhar province, officials said Friday.
Hazrat Hussain Mashraqiwal, provincial police spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Afghan air forces targeted a Daesh hideout in Pekhi Baghdara area of Achin district on Thursday night.
He said that seven IS insurgents were killed in the incident. Civilians and Afghan forces suffered no casualties.
On the other hand, Gula Jan Shinwari, a resident of the area, said he heard bombardment but he had no information about casualties.
Daesh did not comment on the incident so far.
