MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Four Afghan local police (ALP) personnel, including a commander Mohammad Amin and five Taliban militants have been killed during an overnight clash in Dawlatabad district of northwestern Faryab province, an official said Sunday.
Dawlatabad district police chief Col. Niamatullah Tofan told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban staged coordinated attacked with advanced weapons on security check-posts in the district late on Saturday night, with the ensuing clash stretching into Sunday morning.
Four security men including uprising members and ALP personnel and five Taliban militants were killed.
However, Mullah Javed, Taliban’s shadow chief for Dawlatabad district rejected their fighters had suffered casualties in the last night attak.
He said the rebels captured two check-posts and bodies of the slain security men remained on the battle ground.
