KABUL’s shadowy district chief for Washir district in southern Helmand province, the spy sdrivne said on Wednesday.
A statement from the National Directorate of security (NDS) identified the detainee as Mohammad Nabi, son of Sayed Mohammad.
It accused Nabi of being behind many terrorist activities and some weapons were also recovered from him.
The detainee had confessed to spearheading a 20-member Taliban group with activities in different parts of the province.
The Taliban have not yet commented about the incident.
