ANP calls for revisiting ‘good and bad Taliban’ policy

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): A senior Pakhtun nationalist leader has once again asked Pakistani authorities to shun the policy of good and bad Taliban in the interest of lasting peace in the region.

Awami National Party (ANP) leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain said on Sunday the situation was rapidly changing globally and Pakistan should revisit its policies to spruce up its international image.

All stakeholders must take action against the menace of terrorism, the ex-information minister stressed, alleging that outlawed groups were still active in Pakistan under different names.

Deterrent action was needed to combat terrorism in all forms and manifestations, he said, urging Pakistan and Afghanistan not to allow the use of their soil against each other.
