KABUL (Pajhwok): Seven militants have been killed and as many arrested in Afghan forces raid and foreign forces airstrike in eastern Nangarhar province, officials said on Friday.
Five Taliban and two Daesh rebels had been arrested during security forces raid, Attaullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman said.
He said the detained militants were involved in subversive activities in Khogyani, Shinwari, Durbaba and Batikot districts.
Khogyani added the arrested militants had confessed their involvement in terrorist activities and were under further interrogation at the National Directorate of Security (NDS).
Separately, seven Daesh rebels were killed in foreign forces drone strike in the Haska Mena district.
Maj. Mohammad Haroon Yousufzai, spokesman for the 201st Selab Military Corps, said the drone strike happened in the Nari Awbu area on Thursday night in which seven rebels were killed and one injured.
Daesh and the Taliban have not spoken about the incidents.
