LASHKARGHA (Pajhwok): At least 20 Taliban insurgent including two commanders of the group have been killed in airstrikes in Sangin, Nawa and Mosa Qala districts of southern Helmand province, an official said on Saturday.
Lt. Abdul Qader Bahadarzai a spokesman for the 215 Maiwand Corps told Pajhwok Afghan News that two Taliban commanders, Mohibullah and Zahir, were among 20 rebels killed in airstrikes in Musa Kala , Sangin and Nawa districts on Friday night.
He said civilians suffered no casualties during the air operation.
Rahmatullah (not a real name), a resident of China area of Sanging district also said Taliban suffered casualties in last night’s airstrikes, but he had no exact numbers.
Taliban militants have so far said nothing n this regard.
Musa Kala district is fully controlled by Taliban while the government controls only centers of Sanging and Nawa districts.
