KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): At least 32 insurgents have been killed and 18 others wounded in airstrikes in southern Kandahar province, an official said on Saturday.
Police chief Maj. Gen. Tadin Khan told Pajhwok Afghan News foreign forces targeted two vehicles carrying rebels and their hideouts in Shorabak and Maiwand districts on Friday evening.
He said 27 rebels were killed, 18 others wounded and their vehicles, hideouts and weapons destroyed.
Five fighters were killed while transferring explosives in a vehicle in the Sor Baghal area of Maiwand district, said the police chief.
The Taliban have not yet commented in these incidents.
