KABUL (Pajhwok): The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) said in a meeting with Iran’s ambassador in Kabul that Afghanistan is a suitable platform for investment in various electricity sectors.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the power utility said Mullah Abdulhaq Hamkar, CEO of DABS, met with Alireza Bikdeli, Iran’s ambassador to Kabul.
The statement added that both sides discussed investment opportunities and the expansion of joint cooperation in the electricity sector.
They also discussed the 500kV transmission line project, renewable energy, investment opportunities, and broader bilateral cooperation.
Hamkar said Afghanistan is a suitable platform for investment in various electricity sectors and stressed the need to further expand cooperation between the two countries.
He also referred to the 500kV power transmission line project, saying it would help create conditions for future energy exchange.
On the other hand, the Iranian ambassador said his country is interested in expanding cooperation with Afghanistan in the economic, trade, and energy sectors.
He added that there are good opportunities for expanding cooperation in renewable energy, enabling joint work in various fields and contributing to regional cooperation.
Bikdeli also invited the CEO of DABS to visit Iran for discussions on technical cooperation, necessary measures, and broader and timely consultations.
