Kapisa police officer gunned down

MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen have shot dead a police official in the Jabal-us-Saraj district of central Parwan province, authorities said on Sunday.

Police spokesman Abdul Shaiq Shurish said the incident took place in the Damna area of the district on Saturday night.

He said unknown gunmen shot dead Abdul Mashuq, finance officer of at the police headquarters, who was on his way home from Kabul.

He said Mashuq was initially injured in the attack, succumbed to his injuries at hospital. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the murder.
