Taliban question India’s role in Afghanistan

KABUL have blamed India for playing a “negative” role by supporting the government in Kabul, not the Afghan nation.

Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai, deputy head of the Taliban’s political office in Doha, said in an interview on Saturday they would welcome positive steps by the Indian government in the Afghan peace process.

But New Delhi, he told the Azm news site, had maintained economic, military and political ties with a “corrupt” group instead of the Afghan nation over the last 40 years, he alleged.
