Taliban’s unnecessary pressure stalemates talks: Danish

KABUL had renounced Shaira in their quest for power and their unnecessary pressure on certain points stalemated the ongoing peace talks in Qatar.

Addressing a gathering at the Conference Hall of the Attorney General Office (AGO), the vice president said the Taliban delegation was insisting that all future talks and decisions should be based on the US-Taliban agreement of February 29.

He said the government was more interested and committed to peace as compared to the Taliban. He said that during past years, the Taliban showed they were not interested in peace and even did not agree to talks after the signing of their agreement with the US.

Danish said most importantly Taliban’s logic of jihad was unrealistic in current situation and more ridiculous than before and a pretext for waging violence and insecurity.

“Jihad against whom? And on what basis?. Is the killing of innocent people in cities and villages is Jihad. Is the killing of religious scholars like Dr. Niyazi, Maulvi become infidels against whom Jihad should be waged?

Danish said fighting against Muslims was against Quran and Sunnah but the group was violating this divine order and they could be dubbed as a rebellion force.

He termed the government delegation as representatives of the people and said the team was representing the entire nation and would defend the rights of all of the people.

He claimed that the people of Afghanistan enjoyed upper hand on the Taliban in their commitment to religion, Sharia and honesty.

Danish also stressed that coordination in political issues was also the need of the hour, asking the nation to join hands in forcing the Taliban to accept people demand for ceasefire.
