KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Defense (MoD) on Monday claimed killing the organizer of a deadly attack on a military base in southern Ghazni province, in an airstrike.
A day earlier, 31 soldiers were killed and 24 others wounded in a car bombing targeting a base of Public Protection Forces in Qala-i-Jawz area in the capital of Ghazni province.
A statement from MoD received by Pajhwok Afghan News said that the mastermind of the attack was killed in an airstrike of Afghan forces in Alisher Khan area of Giro district of Ghazni on Sunday night.
The source identified the organizer of the attack as Hamza Waziristani and said seven of his comrades were also killed in the incident.
A number of weapons and some ammunition belonged to the insurgents also destroyed in the attack, the statement added.
Taliban did not comment about Ghazni attack and MoD statements so far.
