8 provinces get female assistant governors

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) on Sunday issued notifications for the appointment of eight women assistant governors.

IDLG Spokesperson NargisMohmand on her Facebook page wrote that BayatiSalema has been appointed as assistant governor for Kapisa, BreshanSherzai for Kunar, Maryam Rahmani for Zabul, ZahedaFaizan for Nuristan, RohGulKhairzad for Nimroz and ZarghonaSherzad for Badghis province.

Earlier, Presidential Spokesperson SediqSediqi said that in line with the recommendation of the Women Affairs Ministry and Cabinet’s decision, every province will have one female assistant governor.
